Greetings! Can you believe it's already the last day of June?! Wow!
The past couple of evenings I've been struggling with MOJO 404, but I think I'm finally finished with it:
The sketch is really cute, which is why I wanted to work with it:
The "love" and circle dies are from My Favorite Things, the "hello," stamp is from Alt & Neu, the polka dot paper is from Bo Bunny, and all the rest of the products are from Stampin' Up!
I hope you like it. Thanks for visiting!
Best,
Denise

Celebrate Your Big Day!
Hi, happy day to you!
Today I needed to make a bunch of birthday cards, but I didn't want to spend hours and hours on them. I came up with the card below. Probably what took the longest was tying the bow! I'm just not very good at bows!
The design came together fairly quickly because all the dies I used are from My Favorite Things, so they work nicely together. The designer papers are actually from Michael's! The rest of the papers, ink, embellishments and stamps are from Stampin' Up!
Thanks for clicking by! Hope you're inspired to do some creating today!
Smiles,
Denise

Be You {Tiful} / WAW #189 and CMCC #77
Greetings! I'm glad you clicked here! Today I'm sharing with you a card that mixes two challenges -- the color challenge from Colour Me and Word Art Wednesday's "anything goes/family friendly" challenge.
I love the freedom of the "anything goes" challenges, and the colour challenges really make me think outside my comfort zone. This is the colour swatch:
Now I love orange and pink together, but I probably would not have thought to put plum in the mix, but it works!
For this card, all the papers, inks, embellishments and sentiment I used are from Stampin' Up! The flowers and dies are from My Favorite Things.
Have a fun and creative weekend,
Denise

More Type-Ology!
Hi! Thought I'd post another project I learned how to do in Jessica Sprague's Type-Ology class (which, unfortunately, I don't think is available anymore). This was a project I was able to personalize and give to my daughter. I had it put on an 8x10 canvas, and it came out very nice.
So cool what you can do with digital!!
Thanks for visiting, and have a creative day!

Denise

I Thank My Lucky Stars for You / MOJO403 and Word Art Wednesday #188
Happy Monday! I'm here today to share with you a card that fulfills two blog challenges - one is MOJO Monday #403, and a new blog I heard about called Word Art Wednesday. What a nice blog, with lots of great ideas! I definitely recommend it!
The challenge from Word Art Wednesday is "Anything Goes/Family Friendly", and this is the MOJO sketch:
The designer papers I used are part of the Timekeeper Collection from Marion Smith Designs. The rest of the papers and the ink are from Stampin' Up! All the dies and stamps are from My Favorite Things.
Thanks for clicking by! Stay cool by stamping near an air conditioner!!

You Add Color to My Life
Hi! Are you hanging out near the closest air conditioning vent like I am? Phew, it's HOT out there! It was a good opportunity to stay cool and craft today! I finished up the My Favorite Things summer school lessons by creating a card for the 4th lesson on Lines and Balance:
I love stripes, and since stripes are lines, I thought it would be a great way to draw the eye to the focal point -- the retro TV and the message within.
I've used the Stay Tuned stamp set and coordinating dies (again -- really like those!!), plus the other dies are also from My Favorite Things.
Thank you for clicking on over. What will you create today?
Smiles,
Denise

White Space
Hi! I got a little out of order in the summer school lessons from My Favorite Things, but I have a feeling the teachers are very forgiving! So today I'm going to post the card I made after the lesson on "white space", which is the last lesson in this series (sniff).
I don't normally work with a lot of white, so this was a nice change. I also used a card sketch from MFT's Blueprints 23. The stamp set is MFT's Spring Tulips. It also has a coordinating die set, but I didn't use it this time. The designer paper is from Echo Park's I Love Sunshine, and the inks are from Stampin' Up!
Thanks a lot for clicking by! Hope you're inspired to get creative today!
Smiles,
Denise

"Type-ology" with Jessica Sprague!
Hi, and thanks for visiting today!
I thought I'd share something a little different. A few months ago, I took an on-line course from Jessica Sprague called Type-ology, which was learning about the history of typefaces and then using them in different digital projects. It was pretty cool, and I learned a lot. For one, notice I used the word "typefaces" to describe lettering instead of "fonts"? According to Jessica, "fonts" are the actual software of the typeface -- make sense?
Anyway, the best part was using my new knowledge, and one of the class projects was creating a poster using lettering patterned after 19th century wood type and adding a letterpress texture for an authentic scuffed-up look. This is my finished project:
If I ever get around to it, I'd like to put it on a large canvas for our family room!
This would be a good time to plug Jessica Sprague's classes. If you have been wanting to learn how to do digital scrapbooking, her classes are hands down the best on the internet, and VERY reasonable in price. It's how I learned. The classes are fun and you will love the projects you make.
Digital scrapbooking is also a lot less expensive than traditional paper, and everything you need is in your computer. I do mine on my laptop, so it's also portable. After I have made a bunch of pages, I send them off for printing, and then put the prints in a regular scrapbook. I still like working with real papers and elements, so that is why I make cards! It's been a win-win for me.
Hope you've found some creative inspiration from this post!
See you soon,
Denise

You Put the Wind in My Sails
Greetings! It's mid-week, and today's summer school lesson from My Favorite Things is about movement/flow. I studied the lesson, and came up with this:
The background stamp, papers and ink are from Stampin' Up!, and the message stamp and dies are all from My Favorite Things.
Thanks for clicking by -- see you tomorrow!
Best,
Denise

Retro TV News
Hi, thanks for clicking over! Today's summer school lesson from My Favorite Things was on the focal point. After reading through the lesson, I put together this card, with the TV the obvious focal point. I tried to also combine it with the rule of thirds, from yesterday's lesson.
The puppy die is from Impression Obsession, the designer papers are from the Dream in Color collection by Webster's Pages, the card stocks are from Stampin' Up!, and the stamps and rest of the dies are from My Favorite Things.
I never thought I'd like summer school, but this is really fun!
See ya tomorrow,
Denise

How Sweet of You!
My Favorite Things is hosting "summer school" this week on their blog! How fun is that?! Today's lesson was on the "rule of thirds" and I gotta tell ya, it's one of the best explanations I've ever seen/heard for it.
Here is a card I made using the rule of thirds, and My Favorite Things stamp set called "You're the Sweetest" and its coordinating dies.
The designer papers are part of the I Love Sunshine collection from Echo Park!
Thanks for clicking by...stay tuned for my project from tomorrow's lesson! I wonder what the lesson will be?!
Smiles,
Denise

You're On My Mind...But Not in a Creepy Way!
Greetings!
As you probably know, Stampin' Up!'s new catalog was released a couple of weeks ago, and with tons of new stamps to choose from, I knew the first set I had to get and work with was That Thing You Did. So fun and quirky! In my card below, all the stamps, papers, inks and embellishments are from Stampin' Up! The dies are all from My Favorite Things.
I hope my friends like this card, because I think it's a hoot!
Hope you're inspired to get some creating in today! Thanks for clicking by!

You Are So Cool! / CMCC #75
Hello! I'm creating with My Favorite Things again, using their You're the Sweetest stamp set and coordinating die set. Thought it would be fun to use it with this week's Colour Me challenge of Stampin' Up!'s Night of Navy and Real Red colors. Here's what I ended up with:
Here is the color swatch from Colour Me!:
All the papers, inks and twine are from Stampin' Up! The polaroid frame die is from Lawn Fawn, but all the rest of the dies are from My Favorite Things.
Thanks for visiting! Have a creative weekend,
Denise

Need Another Sailor Card? / MOJO401
Just love the sketch from this week's MOJO Monday, and I decided to use it to fashion a sailor card. And since I've been on a red, white and blue kick, here's what I came up with:
This was the sketch:
The papers, twine, sequins and message stamp are from Stampin' Up!, the die cuts and anchors stamp are from My Favorite Things. The ribbon is from Michael's.
Thanks for clicking by -- hope you find some time to create today!

It's the first of the month, so time for the extra special card available for this month only! It's yummy, and it will make you want to run right out to Cold Stone Creamery (after you order it, of course)!
You can see the inside sentiment here. It's a great card that you can say hello to anybody with!
