Have a Warm Birthday

Since we had 2' of snow this past week, I thought this particular birthday card would be appropriate:
I sure have fun with the stamps and dies from My Favorite Things!  They have become my preferred source for stamps and dies!  I'm still loyal to Stampin' Up! for ink colors and card stock, though.

Supplies:
Hanger die:  Stamps of Life by Stephanie Barnard
Other dies and message stamp:  My Favorite Things
Swoosh stamp, card stock, ink, sequins and snowflake:  Stampin' Up!
DSP:  Echo Park, Hello Winter collection

Thanks for clicking by -- hope you find some time to create this weekend!

Celebrate Your Special Day!

OK, no more Christmas cards, for awhile at least!  I absolutely love this week's MOJO Monday sketch, so I fashioned this card after it:
Here is the sketch:
It's such a great sketch, so I stuck straight to it!  I'm sure I'll use this one over and over.

The challenge this week at Dragonfly Journeys is They Say It's Your Birthday, so I'm linking this card to that blog, too!  And there's always Word Art Wednesday, whose challenge is Anything Goes.

Supplies:
Card stock, ink, butterfly stamps, gold button, gold cording:  Stampin' Up!
All dies, blue button, message stamp:  My Favorite Things
DSP:  Bo Bunny, Somewhere in Time collection

Great sketch from MOJO Monday!

Happy autumn day to you,

I've been home most of the day preparing my projects for the next issue of Create magazine, but I also made time to make this birthday card using the latest sketch from MOJO Monday:

Here is the sketch:
What a great basic sketch!  I see myself using it over and over again.  Also, giving a nod to Word Art Wednesday, who once again has provided creative and spiritual nourishment!

Supply List:
Card Stock, ink, baker's twine:  SU
DSP:  Summer Fun by Fancy Pants Designs
Stitched sun die:   Lil Inker Designs
All other dies:  My Favorite Things
Button: found it in my stash

An Autumn Birthday

Even if Fall isn't quite yet in the air, I'm feeling it in my craft room!  The glorious colors of Fall are so beautiful, which I tried to capture in this card:
Each season offers its own unique beauty, but I love everything about Fall!  It's the one season I wish lasted longer than all the others!

Linking this to the awesome Word Art Wednesday blog, which is a lovely destination for spiritual and creative inspiration.

Supplies:
DSP, cardstock, gold cording, inks, stamps and leaf dies:  SU
Rectangles, banner and button dies:  My Favorite Things

Have a wonderful day,
Denise

Happy Birthday, My Love

Today is my best friend's birthday, who just happens to also be my husband!  All his life he has loved cars, and really appreciates the older, classic models.  So in preparation for his birthday, a few months ago (I've never been a last minute person) I decided to try to find the long retired stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Classic Convertibles, which is a set of three stamps with a T-bird, a Chevy and a Corvette.  During my search I learned this set must be rare and highly coveted because there were very few for sale and I couldn't find it for less than $80.  Sheesh!  I love my husband but that is highway robbery.  Since I had time, I decided to be patient and kept checking for new listings.  Finally one popped up for less than $40, so I grabbed it.  Still too much money, but better than $80.

Then I was faced with making a "masculine" card.  I hate that!  They're just no fun.  I had some really nice vintage-looking masculine designer paper from Fab Scraps, Gentlemen's Club collection, so using dies from My Favorite Things and card stock from SU (including retired Baja Blue -- sniff, miss that color!), I managed to put this together, which I don't think came out half bad:
What do you think?  I made a saying for the inside, which looks like this:
Cute, huh?  It works!  The typeface is Will & Grace, and you can download it for free from Dafont.
Here's a photo of the whole stamp set, apparently worth its weight in gold:

I'm also linking this to Word Art Wednesday's Challenge #197:  Anything Goes

Also thought I'd share some birthday pics with you!  Here he is showing off the masterpiece pizza he made for dinner:

And it's hard to tell, but he just opened the card I made him in this one:

All in all, a success!!

Thanks for visiting -- it was fun sharing this with you!

Happy Birthday to You!

Happy Monday (if there is such a thing)!  Just four more days til Friday! :)

Here's another card I made with Blueprints 26 from My Favorite Things.  So easy and so cute!  The stitched rectangle is from Blueprints 24.  The puffy cloud paper is from Echo Park's I love Sunshine collection, and the stamp message and the rest of the papers are from SU.  I couldn't quite get the background blue paper to look right in the photograph, but it's more blue than green in real life (Marina Mist from SU).

I'm also linking this to Word Art Wednesday's challenge 194, which is Anything Goes / Family Friendly.  I think this card qualifies!!

Thanks for visiting, and hope you do some creating today!

For this card, I used Bazzill card stock and Echo Park I Love Sunshine DSP.

Hope this inspires you to do some crafting today!!

Celebrate Your Big Day!

Hi, happy day to you!

Today I needed to make a bunch of birthday cards, but I didn't want to spend hours and hours on them.  I came up with the card below.  Probably what took the longest was tying the bow!  I'm just not very good at bows!
The design came together fairly quickly because all the dies I used are from My Favorite Things, so they work nicely together.  The designer papers are actually from Michael's!  The rest of the papers, ink, embellishments and stamps are from Stampin' Up!

White Space

Hi!  I got a little out of order in the summer school lessons from My Favorite Things, but I have a feeling the teachers are very forgiving!  So today I'm going to post the card I made after the lesson on "white space", which is the last lesson in this series (sniff).
I don't normally work with a lot of white, so this was a nice change.  I also used a card sketch from MFT's Blueprints 23.  The stamp set is MFT's Spring Tulips.  It also has a coordinating die set, but I didn't use it this time.  The designer paper is from Echo Park's I Love Sunshine, and the inks are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks a lot for clicking by!  Hope you're inspired to get creative today!

Tickled Pink!

Finally got to play with my flamingo stamps and dies from My Favorite Things!  I needed some more birthday cards (shocker), so here's what I put together:
The papers, inks and sequins are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks for visiting and have a good weekend,

Watercolor Birthday

Believe it or not, I was actually running out of birthday cards so I decided to CASE and tweak a sweet card from Melissa Davies, who creates such cute things with stamps, ink and paper!
All the products I used in this card are from Stampin' Up!

Thanks so much for visiting,
Denise

April Card of the Month!

No kidding, this stamp of a balloon animal is one of my most favorite stamps ever, and even has a coordinating die to boot!  Earlier this month I picked it up again to play with, and I decided to make the new card using it my April Card of the Month.
To see what the inside message is and for ordering info, check out my Card of the Month page!

Happy Spring!!

Denise
