When I first saw the color combination that Stampin' Up! was promoting as "retro", I gotta be honest, I didn't like it much. And it was everywhere -- in all their new products. Then I saw a card made by Mary Fish using them, and I really liked her card. So I decided to try it. She had used Very Vanilla instead of Whisper White card stock and I realized that made all the difference -- that the blue and orange combined weren't so harsh together because the Very Vanilla buffered their intensity. So, here is the card that I cased and tweaked from Mary. I learned a lesson on creativity from this -- don't jump to conclusions from a first glance!

I Remember
And now for my favorite pictures of my oldest child, who has always been all girl! She's grown up into a polished professional, working as a native English teacher in Japan! I used digital elements from Jessica Sprague's Beautiful Evidence Album, Basic Grey's Hey Girl, digital papers from Carina Gardner's Papiere Collection, and digital brads from Stampin' Up!
Thanks for letting me share this with you!

Love These Moments
Continuing on with scrapping my favorite pictures of my kids when they were little, here's a set I took of Julie who was in the backyard twirling...just twirling and having the best time doing it! I used Basic Grey's Clippings and Bow Ties from Jessica Sprague.
Maybe while watching the Olympics you can do some crafting! Thanks for visiting!

Favorite Pictures!
I've taken hundreds and hundreds of pictures of my kids, but there are just a few that make it to my "favorites" list. Here is a layout of some of my favorite pictures of Spencer from when he was a little guy. He is 16 now and definitely has lost that "boy" look! For this layout I used a 2013 Photoshop Friday template from Jessica Sprague and the papers are from Basic Grey's Bowties collection, also available at Jessica Sprague.

I Lava You
Is anyone else nostalgic for the 70's? When I saw this lava lamp stamp, I had to get it! This is a simple card that was perfect for my husband, especially since we met in 1974 during the height of the lava lamp craze!

Love You to the Moon
So today I thought I'd post a card that I made for my daughters who are both in different countries -- Lauren is teaching English in Japan and Julie is in Mexico on a mission for our church!! I don't hear from them much and miss them, so I drown my sorrows in card-making for them.
All of the products I used for this card are from Stampin' Up! If you're interested in ordering product, check out my friend Jeanette's website, who is a fabulous Stampin Up! demonstrator:
